Field Trip to Virginia Institute of Marine Science, Eastern Shore Lab
IB Juniors participate in an ongoing research project that involves a working field trip to VIMS-ESL that usually occurs in the spring or summer. Students travel to Wachapreague, VA to record data and explore the ecology of the Chesapeake Bay habitats, including the salt marsh, mud flats, freshwater runoff creek, barrier island, and ocean shoreline. Human impact on the area is also be studied. Participation in the research project will satisfy the IB requirement for the Group 4 (Sciences) Project.
